2026 REEPS Workshop Series – Invasive Species: Identification and Control on Fire-affected Lands

The Central Kootenay Invasive Species Society (CKISS) will present an information session on identifying invasive plant species, explain their detrimental effects and discuss how to control them.

Workshop participants will be guided in effectively pulling invasive species on a local fire-affected property which also has fire-break disturbance.

CKISS will provide some tools. Come out and increase your knowledge and skills while helping out a neighbour!

No cost; snacks provided.

Location:

9495 Highway 6

Directions: 3.2 km south of Enterprise Creek. On the west side of Highway 6, look for a large plywood sign with a yellow #9495. Turn down the driveway for approximately 200 metres to the second right-hand turn with a black gate and a red tractor.

What to Bring: Your favourite weeding tools, tough gloves, and water.
